Moonrise Productions develops and produces independent film, television, documentary, and digital content. We are particularly interested in character-driven stories that explore human relationships, community, identity, and the experiences that bring people together.

Our work includes short films, documentary projects, episodic content, and projects in development for film and television. Moonrise Productions has produced narrative works such as the short film Claire & Joseph and is currently producing Memories to Music, a documentary following high school students and seniors living with dementia as they transform personal memories into original songs. Through this intergenerational collaboration, the film explores connection, creativity, inclusion, and the lasting power of music.

We are committed to creating safe, inclusive, and respectful working environments on every production. We are committed to reasonable working days that respect the well-being of our cast and crew and allow them to maintain a healthy life outside of work. We believe that strong creative work is built through collaboration, clear expectations, and a workplace culture where people feel respected and supported.

Moonrise Productions is also committed to improving the environmental sustainability of our work. We continue to learn, refine our practices, and look for practical ways to reduce waste and support greener productions.

In addition to producing original content, Moonrise Productions provides production accounting and production support services for Canadian film and television projects. Our approach combines accurate financial management, strong organizational systems, and an understanding of the day-to-day realities of independent production. We believe that dependable systems behind the scenes give filmmakers more freedom to focus on their creative vision.
